First Responders

“By personally understanding their employment, I customize aspects of their moving process from start to finish.”

Kristy is continuously looking to support First Responders when able, because “If they don’t keep our neighbourhoods safe, we can’t move people into them”. She comes from a family and social sphere full of firefighters, dispatchers, nurses, and police. After a horrific car accident in 2012, fatally wounding a general duty police officer in Surrey, Kristy learned about Honour House Society and the amazing work they do. Over a few short years she has provided video content, photography, donations, and fundraising events. Kristy’s favourite memory so far is coordinating and feeding the local RCMP ERT team after they helped with hours of much needed yard work!

Directly from the Honour House Society website:

Honour House is a refuge, a “home away from home” for members of our Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans, Emergency Services Personnel and their families to stay, completely free of charge, while they are receiving medical care and treatment in the Metro Vancouver area.

Honour House receives no direct funding and raises all of its operating costs through donations and fundraising. The house has one full time and one part time member of staff. Almost all of the work needed to keep Honour House running is carried out by our dedicated board of directors and our hard working team of volunteers, many of whom have served their country themselves.

As a thank you for the continued support from this client base, Kristy donates $100.00 from every transaction to Honour House Society, a home away from home for military and first responders who are visiting the Lower Mainland for emergency care or medical treatment!

FIRST RESPONDERS APPRECIATION EVENT

Kristy loves to go by the rule “know your audience”, so creating a First Responders Appreciation event had to be tailored accordingly! Every year she rents out a restaurant (the entire thing), provides delicious food, cold drinks, and prizes as a way for First Responders to kick back and relax. Last year Kristy was approached by the owners of a popular tactical store – Joint Force Tactical – to help with her ever growing prize list. Through many generous donations, it’s a great event for these essential services (and their spouses) to feel special. For their safety, photos and event dates are never published.
